Devon had an Idea, and I was going to hit Kurt up to make it, but I thought… Hey I used to make PC boards way back when. This would be a good way for me to get back into the swing of it. 8)
Saturday, hot outside… I got out my Eagle stuff. Version 4.19. What’s this, a 3.5" floppy with a key code? Well I’m not going to install this. lol I went to the Eagle website and got the latest free version. After about half a day I was starting to get the hang of it…
I am remembering how much I enjoyed laying out PC boards. I just have to figure out the making my own parts thing. It’s been a while but I figured sticking with Eagle would be better for me than starting over from scratch.
Mike, I need to know if you would share your mdlib for Eagle?
I want to get the larger power terminals. I just guessed on the one I used above.
What size resistors, caps, and LEDs should I be using?
Well, I guess it took me a while to check out this thread. Sorry. Yes, you can have my libraries for Eagle. I have made sure to edit components only using old versions of Eagle so the libraries will work with 4.1x and later. The free version should be plenty adequate for the board you are working on. For the new SSC-32 I need multiple schematic sheets so I am using an old full version. (Unfortunately it doesn’t work on my newer Vista desktop so I need to use it on my old XP laptop.)
Just got off the phone with Eagle. Hehehe I already have the latest version, but lost my license key. They emailed it to me. I can use it on more than one PC, just not at the same time. So this will work. I bought it for you anyway. lol
I will email you the license key and all you have to do is dl the free version and put in the key. 8)
Might be interesting. I am pretty used to diptrace which I do have a license for. I can import Eagle stuff through conversion functions. I have version 5.11.0 lite installed, which I believe is the current one. I use i to look at things and to do the conversions.
