Hello:
Is the arm suppose to crumble (due to its own weight) when no power is applied?
I thought I’d ask since in the assembly manual pictures, the arm seems to be able to stand in a particular position without voltage.
Thanks, Lyteck

yep, I just built my 5DOF arm today and it collapses when no power is connected. This is becuase no power is going to the servos to hold the wieght and their position. So you end up with a limp arm. Just add power to it and it should hold nicely if you have the correct servos.
To add to that…
Digital servos will start holding their position as soon as they get power.
This means, you can plug a battery directly into the red and black servo wire, leaving the pulse wire (yellow) alone, and the digital servo will continually hold it’s position.
Analog servos need to be told (much like children) over and over, 50 times per second where they’re supposed to be through their pulse wire.
