Lynx 6 and software capabilities

Hello,
I am another noob.

Could anyone tell me what weight this arm can lift

AND

Mention is made RIOS software being able to perform Advanced inverse kinematics control using mouse or joystick
what is this in simple english - I am very new
Does it mean that if I point a curser with my mouse anywhere on a computer screen the arm will respond to that point.

I am trying to get the arm to stay pointing in one direction while the base it is on will at intervals be in motion.

I am prepared to shell out a few thousand dollors for someone to do this for me if there are any takers.

Kind regards
Brendan

well, first off, the arm can carry about a half lb to a lb depending on what kind of servos you get for it. Also, im not too sure about the RIOSE software becuase I have never used it before, but plan to. I believe it can be used with a joystick or with the keyboard. It can also be used by dragging and dropping command boxes on screen and playing them in a sequence. Most of this should be correct. Just sit tight and wait for the rienforcement to come and answer it all 100%…Nick, Linuxguy help me out here

The specs Italion Guy is quoting are a little off. The arms are good for 3 to 5 ounces. We don’t have a servo upgrade for the L5 or L6 arms, however you can build a larger arm with more powerful servos using the Servo Erector Set.

The IK means you position the end of the gripper in X,Y,Z space, rather than move the individual servos to try and get the gripper where you want it. This is an over simplification there are several arm movement modes from mouse and joystick.

Thanks for helping me out there Jim. I realised I was off with my info, but what more can I say at 11:30 at night??

Gyros may be the answer? Seems to me that I-Max cameras have this capability? :open_mouth:
