I am currently about to start a project which will involve a robot arm for which i will make a program that makes it possible for example to input letters (or words etc) and the robot arm will write them down.
I havent yet bought a robot arm but I’ve been looking at the Lynx 5 & 6 and am wondering if it would make any difference (or if it’s even feasible) which one i use? And ofcourse if I need to buy anything else for it to work.
Challenging project! I guess your question is centered on whether the L5 or L6 is better for the writing part. If you use a custom pen/pencil holder, you could live without the gripper assembly.
What would be the relationship of the writing surface to the arm base?
Would the writing surface be in the same plane as the arm base or perpendicular in front or the sides?
I have been considering the drawing of a square outside a circle.
Letters would require look up tables for the motions.

so it shouldnt be too hard to create a table of words or letters as long as all the letters remain in the same plane. You don’t even it need to be in the same plane as the arm… but that gets more complicated and you would be better off with some sort of PTP database for it.
