LSS HT1 RC Position mode - stuttering and not holding position

Hi,

Have a set of 4 LSS HT1 servos. Switched them all over to RC POS mode. 3 of the 4 all work as intended. The 4th though seems to be having issues. If the servo is commanded to a position, it stutters to it, stops in position, but a second or so later then looses position hold/goes loose.

I swapped it back to smart mode, and via the LSS config software, it works fine in this mode using the on screen sliders, and locks in position fine. Swapping back to RC mode and then have the same issues. The other 3 servos work fine on this same PWM channel. So it is isolated to the servo.

Any help will be appreciated.

@rk_iss Welcome to the RobotShop Community. If the servos work well in smart mode, that might seem to indicate the mechanics and electronics are at least ok, so the questions are going to relate to power, connections and signal.

  • Can you factory reset the servo completely using the button menu? It’s at the bottom of this page.
  • Connect only that servo to the LSS Config to update its ID
  • Set it to RC mode via the button menu
  • Ensure you ONLY have that servo connected to something providing the RC signal (receiver or microcontroller?) as well as 12V
  • Send the RC position command

Some questions

  • What are you using to send the RC signal? Have you tried different pins?
  • How are you powering the individual servo and all four servos?
  • Have you verified the RC cable connected to that servo?

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. Ill give factory reset via button a go, and then ID via config software.

Answers: i have tried individually this servo on pins/power supply that run the other 3 servos fine. So it is localized to the servo itself.
