LSS-ADA issue with Tx and Rx pins

I’m using the LSS-ADA (type-C) with the SES-V2 mechDOG kit that I bought. The ADA board is stacked on top of Arduino UNO, and I’m using appropriate headers as per your documentation. I’m using the simple gait code on the UNO.
When I upload the code, the ADA switch is set to USB. It uploads successfully. Then I disconnect the UNO, set the ADA switch to Arduino, and power up the ADA using this adapter. But the servos don’t move. There are no jumpers in JP11 and JP12 on ADA.

When I short the pin-0 & pin-1 of ADA with actuator’s Rx & Tx using jumpers, the servos work, and the robot trots perfectly. So, my guess is, my ADA board is faulty, since the pin-0 & pin-1 are not properly shorted to the servo Rx & Tx.

Hi hasibul,

Nice to know you are playing with our Lynxmotion mechDOG.
Can you take some pictures of your LSS-ADA and how it work (with jumpers) and how it doesn’t ?

Thanks,

Sure, here is the picture for your reference.

That’s kind of weird.
If you remove the Arduino, set the LSS-ADA to USB and connect the USB C to a computer, can you find all the servos ?

Sure, I’ve disconnected the UNO, connected the ADA to my PC, and used LSS Config to find all 12 servos. Here is a screenshot.

Ok - That confirm that your LSS-ADA is not completely dead.

In your image of Working / Not Working example, I can spot you have the USB cable connected to your Arduino while trying to run the code, can you disconnect it ?

Are you able to test continuity between your header pin 0 / 1 and one of the 6 LSS connector ?

The USB cable that you’re seeing in my “Does NOT work” image is not connected to any PC when I tried to run. For sanity check, I also removed the cable completely; but there was no change in effect.

For the continuity test, it failed. I used a digital multimeter, and it’s open between header pin 0 / 1 and any of the six LSS connectors. The LSS connectors are internally shorted (as expected), i.e., Rx pins are shorted with one another, so are Tx pins. But unfortunately, header pins 0 / 1 are connected to neither Tx nor Rx.

Hi hisabul,

That’s a first, I don’t know what happened.
This is elevated to a support ticket and look at your SPAM folder as sometimes it goes there.

We will replace the LSS-ADA board.

All the best,
