Hi @Ebram ,
I purchased the unit on 10-07-2017, order #656364377 on costco.ca.
I have only this robot.
I did not replace any parts recently.
I removed the globe and checked to see if I can see magnets around and in the base, but I did not.
I noticed that the gear for the motor is kind of loose (move back and forth) and when the motor change direction it run 2-3 seconds before the gear turns. Same when I turn the gear manually, it can turn loose for a bit.
When I replaced the globe on the base and turn the LR3 back on, the flashing lights seems to have stop flashing.
I’m a bit confused…
Hi @Ebram ,
The lights are flashing again (red, yellow, blue sequentially). The unit is working but only manually.
Please help.
Hello @Syville ,
Thank you for your reply.
You can tighten the screw on the black gear as shown in this link:
https://support-litter-robot.force.com/s/article/Fixing-a-loose-gear-on-your-Litter-Robot
If that didn’t stop the issue, then the magnets could be missing or the hall-effect has gone defective.
You can check the magnets by putting any metallic object on these 2 areas circled in red and see if the magnets will attract the object or not:
If they did, then the issue is coming from the hall-effect sensor and it needs to be replaced.
Since the robot is out of warranty. you would need to order this sensor from the following link:
This guide would show you how to replace it:
How to replace the hall effect sensor.pdf (2.2 MB)
Let us know how it goes.
Sincerely,
