Low Profile BRAT Turret

After some tinkering with the Mech BRAT, I wanted to see if there was a way to get the turret a bit lower. Here’s what I came up with. Not quite possible at the moment with stock SES parts, but we’ve got an addition in the workings.

Look at how perfectly that fits! It’s almost like we designed it that way! :stuck_out_tongue:

There is an ASB-04 on the back of the LPA which allows the electronics “backpack” to still be on the back.

What do you guys think?

I love it, I love it, I love it!

That’s a fantastic configuration for a mech brat! That modified aluminum strap piece connecting the two legs should be made into an SES bracket part.

We’re on it!

thats a really nice use of the LPA.
works really well. 8)

Nice! is that a prototype or the real deal?

i have been meaning to buy the LPA but im finding the right project to use it on. not that i base my project on a single part! anyway looks good. with the new part it will open new possibility. is that just an interconnection part ASB-18 with added holes? or is a new new part.

my thoughts are that if ranges of lengths in the distance between the axis of ASB-18’s were introduced it could expand ideas.
but that’s a different story and not for this thread.

I can help here.

The ASB-18 was designed to attach two ASB-04’s together at a right angle. But many other uses for it have evolved. The ASB-25 imaged by James above is the real deal. We have them in house in clear and black anodized finish. It’s a little longer than the ASB-18. I have been asked to wait a couple more weeks on adding it to the website in hopes the new site will be going. This will prevent duplicate work by Beth and it’s understandable. It’s getting close…

I do plan to offer 4, 5, 6, and 7 hole versions.

Yes, yes, YES! I have been hoping for this for a LONG time and can already see where I can use these in my current and future projects.:smiley: I was just thinking about how I could accomplish a new pan/tilt base, and these will work wonderfully for what I want to do. I REALLY would like to add some of these to my May order…

GREAT Woik Mayard!
