Hey guys, I am working on a strange project here. I am on the lookout for a rotary and or linear actuator/servo that will be driving a full size vehicle of sorts. It will be a requirement that a human can take control of this vehicle at any time. I know autopilot servos for aircraft have a built in clutch so the pilot can overrun the servo’s in the event the electronics fail to give control back to the pilot. It would be ideal if this clutch, or some sort of release would be built into the servo. Or even if there is some sort of mechanical de-coupling device for rotary or linear servo’s that might suffice as well. Thanks in advance!
It will be controlling rudder pedals like what you find on a Cesna plane, and individual brakes, along with throttle. Hoping to run the rudder pedals with cables, the brakes will hopefully be master cylinders plumbed into the existing brake system, and throttle would be an additional cable run in parallel with existing throttle cable. hopefully.
