Looking for high quality ranging sensor sensor

I’ve been looking for a high quality ultrasonic or IR sensor and I’ve found quite a few options but I don’t want to make a nooby mistake and would like to have some advise from someone. Here’s my qualifications.

-range of 0 to 25cm
-accurate to milimeter or better
-small(about the size of a Ping or a little bit bigger)
-tight beam width and by tight I mean as tight as is available to the hobby robotics market
-$150 or less

0 to 25 what?

The maxbotics sonars are the best that I’m aware of.

You can have a look at there:

There is a lot of sensors.

sorry, Centimeters.

The one on the top of the page won’t work I need one that will have no or little minimum reading. Six inches is to much. I’m looking through the rest of the sensors.

What is resolution? I’m assuming it is the minimum width an object must be before it can detected by the sensor.

I don’t know a lot about those sensor…
but it need to send a wave and read it back… so it need a minimum distance.
maybe you need to find something else as a sensor…

I’ve been looking around and it seems their isn’t anything that has signifigantly greater performance than the Ping((( which is the sensor I’m currently using. :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:

Thanks for helping though.

Now I just need something like this

But 20 times cheaper.
