Looking for guidance on motor control

Hi guys, I own a shop fitting company in Scotland and we have a pretty cool project in at the moment where we are transforming a retro caravan into a nail bar for the client

I was the steadies in each corner to lower themselves though and also level the van. We will machine an adaptor to allow each motor to be able to connect to the steadies. To turn the shaft and raise the van each motor only needs around 20-30Newtons or force.

We would need 12v motors I assume as all the electrics we install will of course be 12v

We could have mounted a motor on each corner and then used push buttons to level it manually but I’m wondering if any of you guys out there could help me design a system where by it will level itself?

I assume it would be something along the lines of a gyro/accelerometer but I’m unsure as yet

In our workshop we have all the tools from cnc routers, laser engravers and cutters, water jet cutters and so on

If I can return the favour by doing something for you, I will

Thanks for your time

Hi Luxous,

Generally speaking yes you would need an IMU sensor to get a sense of the environment.
The Accelerometer will help you get the level you need but you will need to code the application.

An arduino microcontroller which include 4 relays and an IMU might be a solution for hardware:
IMU Breakout Board - MPU-9250
Wireless Relay Control Rboard Arduino Compatible
