Looking for caterpillar track to move an iPhone

I’m looking to build a tracked caterpillar setup to move an iPhone on a rig that photographs it. It’ll be connected to stepper motors to allow it to stop at set intervals.

Just wondering if anybody know of a kit I could use to build this?

@d0n13 Might just opt for this? https://www.robotshop.com/ca/en/padbot-t1-telepresence-robot.html

If you really want something custom, not aware of any tracked platforms which use stepper motors.

Normally a DC motor with encoder would allow you to keep track of distance travelled.

Thanks but I’m not sure what that does? Does it move? It’s not clear from the images.

I guess I’m just after the tracksand wheels so that I can use in a custom build and I will add my own stepper motors etc as I can plastic print anything required. Just looking for custom length tracks with the appropriate wheels.

It’s a little tracked platform for a mobile phone for telepresence. You can see the tracks here:

For small tracks, consider:

The sprocket is made for a Solarbotics GM DC gear motor with double D shaft. You might want to create a 3D printed custom sprocket to be able to use a stepper motor.

That looks ideal. Thank you for that.
