I am wondering if there is an actuator that is both linear and can spin the shaft at the same time. Thanks in advance for your help.
Hi @bhaena and welcome to our forum.
I am not sure if I have seen those. Maybe like a combination of motor and actuator.
This product could be interesting for you: https://www.robotshop.com/en/servocity-74-inch-linear-actuator-kit.html
For which application do you need it?
Thanks for the suggestion. I am trying to make an arm that can raise and lower a flag as well as spin it. Any other ideas?
My idea would be to use standard linear actuator (https://www.robotshop.com/en/actuators.html) but to mount it on some motor which you could control to make a rotational movement.
I am sure that what you want will be a custom build. Though, as long as you can put your spin motor on the business end of the linear actuator, then you can use mostly off-the-shelf motors. I can imagine another approach to put the motors on the opposite end of the linear actuator. But, that is surely going to make it a LOT more complicated.
