Looking for a SCARA or 7DOF robot

Hi!

Looking for a SCARA or 7DOF robot with a 500mm reach, 3kg payload programmable with ROS/Python.

Any recommendations?

Thank you so much in advance for your help!

Hello @blueo,
Welcome to RobotShop community.

The available and closest Arm robot to your requirements is 6 D.O.F xArm (no gripper), but there’s a 7 D.O.F version of it so you can contact RobotShop support and ask about the possibility of ordering the 7 D.O.F version for you.

The " uArm xArm 6 Robotic Arm" has 5 kg payload and Reach of 691 mm.
Programming: Pytnon/C++/ROS Underlying Interface.

This video gives you more insight about the arm robot:

Hello @Ebram will you help mi understand that what makes an scara robot different from others how it works does it work in all axis which type of actuator used in it and how to make an scara robot for all axis

Hello @Sanand,

The Scara robot has a unique trajectory in its movement… its links rotate horizontally around vertical joints.

There’s an option to add the Z-axis the same way it is on the CNC machines such as the Shapeoko CNC machine.

This video will show you how to build a SCARA robot using Arduino:

Thanks sir ,this reached me alot and I want to ask you that is this type of scara robot https://community.robotshop.com/robots/show/raspberry-pi-robot-arm-with-simple-computer-vision

Does scara robot is only define from its joints or rotary joints just like it and this blue scara robot

And one more thing that programming of the blue scara is bit difficult for me can you please help me to understand it easily

Hello @Sanand,

Thank you for your reply.

No, this is an Articulated robotic arm.

This article will show you the difference between each type of the robotic arms:
https://www.robots.com/faq/what-are-the-main-types-of-robots#:~:text=There%20are%20six%20main%20types,are%20referred%20to%20as%20axes.

Are you referring to the programming to build this custom-made interface or how to use the interface itself?

Awaiting your reply.

Thank you so much sir now I have got an idea of what exactly scara robot is , sir I want to make a robotic arm which can be folded or kept in very compact space means less space but when we make it on or give command so it should be able to move in all axis as our commands and should be tall in height something like ladder of fire brigade not exactly like that but somewhat idea ,so which type of robotic is suitable.

And one more thing sir that I don’t know how to program a robot basic also so where I can and how to learn it easily

So sorry for late reply

Which type of this robot is?

Hello @Sanand,

Thank you for your reply.

According to your description, the Articulated type would be a good choice for you.

Do you want to build the robotic arm from scratch and program it by yourself or you just need to assemble a kit and control it via phone or pc app?

If you want a preprogrammed one to just control it via an interface, you can check this tutorial to choose one:

If you wish to start from scratch, you will need to learn about robotics (Forward & Inverse Kinematics)

There are a lot of books and tutorials for beginners to learn about the kinematics and control of Robotic Arms.

You can find courses on Coursera and Udemy as well.

Sincerely,

Thank you so much sir for all your support

You are welcome, best of luck with your project
