we have problems with our auto-sampling robot “lynx motion al5”. It does not meet the set sampling positions with replicable precision. We assume that the servo is too unprecise. Especially the horizontal moovement is rather unprecise, using a HighTech HS422 servo. We are thought about replacing the servo. Do you think this can solve the problem and could you name us more precise servos?
To confirm, the servo in the base is a 422, as opposed to a 485HB?
The injection molded base of the AL5 series works only with specific Hitec servo motors, including the 422, 485, 645 and digital versions thereof. The best of these compatible servos would be the 5645:
If increased accuracy is needed, you will need to change to either a different base or a different servo such as the LSS:
This is intended to be used with serial, but can also be used in RC mode, and there is a higher torque version as well. You would need a new base:
Normally for accuracy it is the shoulder servo which is the issue as it needs to provide the most torque. If you can tell us more about the application, we may be able to offer some additional insight.
