Looking for a HEAVY DUTY pan/tilt setup

I’m looking for a pan / tilt setup similar to something you’d find in a vehicle’s side mirror motor on vehicles equipped worth power mirrors.

It’d have to be considerably more heavy duty than that though as it’ll have a spot light mounted on it, then that mounted to a vehicle, must be able to handle the abuse, so no plastic stuff…

I’d like it to pan 180°, tilt would be nice if it was 180° also.

Thanks in advance of anyone has any thoughts or ideas on this.

I recommend smart servos like dynamixels. I’ve had good experience with dynamixels. When you say no plastic stuff, the actual plan tilt brackets are probably going need to be machined since it will be custom to your system.

Can you give us a link to the spotlight itself and provide some ideas about size and weight?
Also, do you plan to use it (and/or leave it outside) in all weather conditions, including rain and snow?
Last, since it will be mounted on a vehicle, do the actuators need to be 12V or do you foresee a separate power supply?

Oh yeah good point, if you use Dynamixels, you’ll probably need a power supply for it or a DC-DC converter.
