I have an application where I need to remotely operate an accessory on a drone (on / off control) from distances of up to a mile (minimum). I am looking at the Thomas Scherrer TX700 Pro and Spektrum MD2 transmitter & AR610 receiver. Do I need to also purchase the Thomas Scherrer RX700 module or will the TX700 work with the AR610 receiver? I plan to use an E-Flight brushed ESC module for actually switching the load.

Alternate suggestions on how to achieve the needed range (1 mile minimum) and remote load switching (2 loads; 9 Volts DC; 350 mA max) would be greatly appreciated. The drone selection is being done by someone else (commercial application).

This can achieve up to 20Km (12 miles) line of sight and includes the receiver. It also costs quite a bit less than the Pro. If you really want the Pro, we can see if we can special order it for you.
Given that it includes the receiver, you don’t need the AR610 receiver.
