I want to use 4 50kg load sensors and avoid the Wheatstone bridge wiring. I think I can use a load sensor combinator but unsure if 1 combinator could accommodate all 4 load sensors or I would need to use 2 combinators?
Hi @AJBarbas,
If you are talking about this product (https://www.robotshop.com/products/load-sensor-combinator-v11) it says following:
The SparkFun Load Sensor Combinator is a bare PCB that combines four load sensors into a standard four-wire Wheatstone bridge configuration.
Thank you. This is the product I am asking about. What is confusing me are the 2 images. The first one shows the load cells connected to the device. However, the next image shows two of the combinators connected to each other. I am wondering in to have a 4 sensor circuit I need 2 combinators.
Hi @AJBarbas ,
What you see on the photo is not two combinators, but one combinator and one amplifier.
This is the amplifier they used:
On the left side of the combinator board, you can connect amplifier, and in the middle, you can connect up to four load cells:
