Load question on the tracked vehicles

I’m curious what the weight load on the tracked rover can be and still run at full speed without burning out is. i.e. how much other stuff can I load on the chassis? 2 of the Lynx5/6 arms?

If I added a second pair of the motors to the system, I assume that the top speed would not change, but that I would be able to move more mass around. The question on adding the second motors is, if I wired them up parallel on each side, would one sabertooth be enough to control them? I am thinking that would be simpler than having two sabertooth, and splitting the control signal/having several control signals synchronized.

Yup, wiring the motors (left/right) parrallel into pairs works fine. This is how most 4WD rovers are made (such as mine). The Sabertooth is more than enough for this :wink:

The payload this chassis can carry is probably a good 4lbs (without decreasing speed or causing some strain). My geuss is this is about what your limits are before the rover actually has to work to move the bot. Other than that, I think your safe to put 2X lynx arms on here if you wanted :laughing:
