LMR is going to Maker Faire NYC 2011

Oh I see you are working to

Oh I see you are working to get an inside table. That will be great.

I received official word

I received official word today that our application to attend MakerFaire NYC as an exhibitor has been approved! Hurray!

Same here. Hopefully the

Same here. Hopefully the tables will be somewhere nearby. At the very least I’ll be short to stop by.

Ok, I, looking at the tickets…

and I see it says there is a fee and a price. Im confused about this… so could someone explain this?

I would help if you provided

I would help if you provided some reference to what you are talking about, instead of making me guess.

There is a ticket price for attendees. Makers who have had their application accepted attend for free. There are also opportunities to volunteer time to get in without paying the ticket price.

Maybe the fee you are talking about is for vendors who want to sell stuff at the Faire? They pay $100 in order to be allowed to sell stuff.

I was talking about…

the fee and price listed on here: http://makerfairenyc.eventbrite.com/

But are you saying that whoever got their application excepted attends free? Would that be like you and whoever else said they are coming.

Im only asking this cause Im thinking about going, but Im trying to get everything sorted out and be cheap.

I hope that link is more info so you understand.

Why does it have to be 17

Why does it have to be 17 and 18th =( My classes start then and I can’t drive down from Toronto during the week !!!

Sounds like the arrangements
Sounds like the arrangements have been set. Did the organizers give you the indoor setup or will you be stuck getting a tan?

OK, that makes sense now. It

OK, that makes sense now. It appears to be a fee from Eventbrite for processing the ticket purchase.

Regarding free tickets for team members, people who will work a minimum of four hours at the LMR table will qualify for entrance at Maker check-in. I have to submit the names of the people before hand. So far, only flummer has definitely committed to helping for a significant amount of hours.

If you (or anyone) would like to volunteer to man the table for four hours or more, please let me know. I could really use the help!

The 17th and 18th are a

The 17th and 18th are a Saturday and Sunday, for most students, like me, that’s usually perfect.

It’s next month (September),

It’s next month (September), not this month.

Foiled by Microsoft Calendar

Foiled by Microsoft Calendar again… Still it’s a 9 hour drive from my university so sadly I can’t make it =( Hopefully next year it won’t be during the study time.

Hoo hoo!We have officially

Hoo hoo!

We have officially been moved to an indoor exhibit, which will make use of infrared sensors practical. Patrick, can you still send us a line follower?

Since we’ll be running some workshops for people to build stuff, we have expanded to two tables.

Also, if RobotGrrl is going to make it, we’ve asked the Faire organizers if our two exhibits can be set up somewhere near each other.

Attention all volunteers!

If you have told me you are planning to come to MakerFaire and you can spend at least 4 hours at the LMR table, you can get into the Faire at no cost.

However, I will need to submit your names by Sep 7th to get you in as an assistant.

Please send me an email that includes:

  • Your full name
  • An email address
  • Indicate the days you will be working at the LMR exhibit for more than 4 hours.
    • Saturday, September 17th
    • Sunday, September 18th

I think you will get a day pass for each day that you work at least 4 hours at our table.

If you just want to come enjoy the Faire and stop by the LMR table, that’s cool too. But I need to know NOW who I can count on for some volunteer hours.

I would love to volunteer…

But I don’t think my parents and brother would stay around for that long.  I’ll probally just end up cruising around the faire and then will hang around at the LMR booth.  I’ll check to see if I can volunteer though.

I’ll be nearby

Well, it seems official. My table should be nearby you guys…or from how they responded “near another table with robots”…Either way, awesome!

Cool! See you there!

Cool! See you there!

Just a few more…

I’ll be bringing some students from Old Dominion University (Norfolk, Virginia) with me.

We’ll be sure to drop by to see you.

Excellent. See you there!

Excellent. See you there!

Gonna try

I will try to make it. Depends on budget issues
