Hello, I purchased my Litter-Robot in 2017 from Costco.
Recently, I’ve found it upside down (end of 1st rotation) with the yellow light flashing twice per second.
Following some suggestions on this forum concerning the Anti-Pinch safety, I’ve pulled out and cleaned the two-metal pins, and put them back ensuring that they are indeed continuously in contact.
That seemed to fix it… but now every second day, the same problem persists. I have to remove the bonnet, rotate the globe back to starting position, place back the bonnet and power cycle.
Please let me know what part I should try replacing first.
Thank you.
John
Usually none of the buttons work, while the yellow light is flashing twice per second… so no blue light.
Also, yes I do hear a ‘cracking’ sound when the 2nd rotation doesn’t turn the opposite direction, but continues in the same direction as the 1st rotation.
When that happens, I immediately unplug from the wall and perform my regular ‘reset’ steps, as stated in my first post.
If the globe didn’t stop where it should, usually the problem is with the Hall-effect sensor. You can read more here: https://community.robotshop.com/blog/show/litter-robot-iii-the-hall-effect-sensor
It can either be moved so it’s not detecting globe properly or it is just not working anymore.
So, in that case, the best is to replace wiring harness.
And, if the buttons never work, I would suggest replacing printed circuit board.
If you are still in warranty period, please advise.
