I require your help regarding a problem I’m encountering.
The yellow light on my Litter Robot 3 is flashing once per second but will not rotate or empty. I am unable to reset it. The globe and the bonnet are correctly installed but the same problem continues. The globe is on its tracks and the tabs of the bonnet are inserted in the back and sides.
I have replaced the anti-pinch pins, bonnet pins and base pins as they were rusty. I have cleaned the inside parts. I replaced the DFI sensor approximately 12 months ago. However the problem continues.
We are sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your Litter-Robot.
Were these pins replaced along with the DFI sensor 12 months ago or have you just replaced the pins now?
If that’s the case, please send us pictures of the purple and black wires connected to the pins so we can check if they are connected correctly or in reverse order.
Thanks Ebram. The DFI sensor was replaced 12 months ago. The pins have all been replaced this week but the problem persists. I’ve uploaded photos of the anti-pinch pins and wires.
We needed to see the wires connected to the base and bonnet pins as these are the ones that are responsible for the slowly blinking yellow light error.
These are indeed one of the 2 pairs of wires we needed to see and they are connected correctly so the issue is most likely to be coming from the two located inside the base.
Unfortunately, you will have to disassemble the base to access these wires.
Thanks so much for your reply and sorry for the delay. I just went to take a photo of those wires for you and when I took it a part I realised that I hadn’t plugged the wires back in when I replaced the pins! Sillly me. All fixed now.
So once I plugged the base pins back in the robot worked fine for a few days. However it’s now returned to the yellow flashing light (slow). Any ideas?
Hi Ebram, I’ve not noticed that no. I have seen over the past day it will be flashing yellow for a couple of hours. I’ll then come past and it will be back to static blue. And then later change to flashing yellow. I can’t work out a trend
According to your description, the yellow light should be blinking once per second and this could occur if one of the wires were connected in the wrong order.
To check the wires, please open the base and send us a picture like this one focusing on the pins circled in red:
