Hi
My 2 year old robot litter tray (thank God I bought the 5 year warranty) is not very happy.
I have (yet again) had drawer sensor issues and suspect that it, again, needs a replacement sensor as the full light is just continuously flashing. I have turned it off for periods of time before turning it on again, the sensor clear plastic guards are clean, the tray bag is not sticking up and yes I have conducted a hard reset on it numerous times with no luck. The globe has now decided to over rotate each and every time meaning that the globe is stuck upside down. There is a fast flashing yellow light which I am suspecting means a faulty connection with the pinch detector. I have had a look and it looks like the metal clip things have corroded and need replacing. Once the globe over rotates I am unable to clear the lights or reset the globe. I am also now unable to do a hard reset because each time I turn the tray off to manually put the tray back to home position, when I turn it back on, the tray automatically rotates and over rotates again. I am at my wit’s end with this robot as I have had nothing but problems with it since I bought it. I do infact regret buying the thing. I may as well of got a much cheaper manual tray cleaner system. Please can you arrange collection of my base so someone can look at it to either repair or send me a replacement as ATM I am not even able to use it, as currently a normal tray is most effective and easiest option due to the shape of the globe and ineffectiveness of using a scoop to get the dirty litter out. Thanks. Frankie
Hi Frankie,
We know you did some the troubleshooting, but can you please follow these steps just to be sure.
The following troubleshooting should resolve the blue light blinking while the waste drawer is empty. Once resolved, the unit should consistently recognize when your cat visits and cycle accordingly.
To troubleshoot the blue blinking, let’s start by power cycling your unit:
1.) Leave your unit powered ON with the blue blinking light engaged & Unplug your power supply from the base
2.) Wait 10 seconds then plug the unit back in
3.) Allow the unit to complete a start‐up cycle. If the light is solid blue, the code has been successfully cleared. If the light is still blinking, let’s proceed with troubleshooting. Let’s empty the drawer if it has waste and reinstall the bag before proceeding.
Note: If you are using a dark colored bag, always tuck it into the tabs.

Let’s check your DFI Lenses for any obstructions:
- Turn off the unit and Unplug the power from the base
- Remove the Bonnet and the Globe
- Inspect the top of the Base where the Globe usually rests. Are there any debris? Small amounts of litter is normal. Clean as needed.
- Inside the waste opening there are two clear ““Lenses”” (left and right side). Ensure there are no debris on the Lenses. Sometimes litter can fall/splash onto them. ** To clean the lenses, we recommend wiping them off with a soft damp cloth and/or glass cleaner. Do not directly spray the Base or DFI Lenses. **
- Replace the Globe and Bonnet. Reset the black key in the back of the unit into the pocket. 6. Plug the unit back in. If you turned the power off, you will need to power it on and press ““cycle””. Once the cleaning cycle is complete, the unit should be at the Home position with a Solid Blue LED on.
Further Troubleshooting:
- If the unit continues blinking blue, remove the waste drawer and press cycle.
- Press reset 2x to abort the cycle and return the unit to home (it will level the litter).
- If the unit goes to solid blue with the waste drawer removed, ensure there is nothing in the drawer blocking the lenses.
- If the drawer is clear, your base needs to be repaired ‐ let us know that you tried the full troubleshooting without results.
- Please provide us with the serial number from the base of your unit (back inside wall, behind the waste drawer, on a silver sticker): SN#
Hi,
I have done what you instructed me to do in your last message. Nothing worked until the last one where you told me to remove the waste drawer. I have discovered that the blue light stops flashing when the waste drawer is not in, but when the EMPTY drawer is in the blue light flashes. How could the empty drawer be making the blue light flash when in, but not when it is out? The SN is 5001282.
Thanks,
Frankie
Hi Frankie,
Have you installed a bag in the drawer? Make sure to tuck it in properly such as in this video:
No there is no bag just a empty tray
