We had the based changed in 2013 and it’s been working fine. However, after the last cleaning we did, the yellow light stays on and after two minutes the red light flashes. We’ve checked the manual and did all the instructed actions (Turned it off, unplugged, made sure is on a level surface, made sure we had the right amount of litter, checked sensor sensitivity, set it at default sensitivity, etc.) and nothing happens. When we plug it back in the yellow light turns on and the red light flashes after 2 minutes.
We highly depend on our robot to work especially with two toddlers in the house.
Hi Despo, it seems there’s a problem with a sensor.
Please check the following:
While the globe is at the dump position please check to see if the Waste Port Guard handle is interfering with the entrance lip of the flexible liner. If this appears to be the case then please reposition the lip such that the channel at the base of the lip is fitted onto the hard plastic opening.
Remove the globe and make sure there is nothing stuck on the base where the globe turns. Make sure there is nothing preventing the globe from turning properly. Also, make certain there is no debris on the safety line and then SNAP it a few times to make certain the switch is not stuck. Please also make sure the litter-robot is on a level surface.
Let’s also make certain the cat sensor is at the factory setting. Please remove the globe and waste drawer and make certain the unit is off. You will see a black cover just inside the base. Remove it. You will now be able to see a bolt that is coming out of a nut. This bolt should show 1/4 inch above the nut. If it does not, then adjust the cat sensor by turning what we call the foot/knob that is directly underneath the base until it is.
Put everything back together and let the unit cycle.
Thank you for the confirmation. We suggest you to refer to this blog post and verify the connections of your Litter-Robot. It seems like one of the connections has problems. Let us know know it goes.
We have tried what was suggested in the last post but we still have the same problems. We also checked the circuit board and some of the components seem worn out. Please advise on what to do next. We desperately need our litter robot
We hope you can help us solve this problem. We have been without a litterbox for quite sometime and with two toddlers in the house it has been very hard to deal with the regular cat litterbox.
According to the motherboard pictures, it seems the motherboard is not correctly connected. We suggest you to verify with this picture : robotshop.com/blog/en/files/ … ctions.jpg
No it was completely dead when we tried it this time.
However, I left it off the power all night and when I tried it today it started rotating slowly. It seems that there is an issue with the power supply because when I hold the part of the power supply that goes into the unit depending on the position it either goes faster or slower.
Maybe we need to replace the power supply and the motherboard?
Hi Despo, It appears it can be caused by either the power supply or the power jack where the power supply tip plugs into the Litter-Robot. Do you have a voltmeter to test the power supply? If not, we would suggest you to replace the power supply and the power jack.
