Litter robot open air orange light flashing

Hi I have a probleme with my litter robot. as soon as the light is dim the night light comes on which is normal but the base flashes orange light on permantly an the litter robot and doesn’t work.
If i diactive the night light the litter works mormall at all times. I think ther is an electrical problem but don’t know which parte needs replacing. Can anybody help ?

Hi @DawnHunter

Please test if the night light is interrupting your cycle. Cover the light sensor which is located under the power button. If the night light turns on and the cycle is interrupted, then your bonnet needs to be replaced.

It is possible that the night-light is not even working, in this case, please remove the power from the robot and unclip the bonnet. Inside the bonnet you will see 2 wires connected to a small circuit. Make sure the wires are well connected to the circuit.

If that is working fine, then the problem is probably with the connection between the base and the bonnet. Have a look at this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EyUuSGSgn1A&t

Also, there are two connection metal pins between base and bonnet. Some customers use WD-40 to clean them to make better contact.

Please tell us how this goes.

Ok yes thats the problem !!

If i deactivate the night light setting the litter box works fine .

If the night light setting is on and there is enough daylight it works.

If the night light setting is on and not enough daylight so night light is on then the orange light flashes on and the litter box doesn’t work any more.

Do I need to replace the bonnet or just the wiring part on the night light ?

Thank you Dawn

Hi @DawnHunter,

It is good that you located the problem. You cannot buy only the wiring part. You can buy and replace complete bonnet.

Find it here: https://www.robotshop.com/en/litter-robot-3-open-air-bonnet-bisque.html

Are you maybe still in warranty?
