Litter robot III red light flashing

I purchased a new cat sensor and installed it but still didn’t fix the problem. I’ve unplugged it, turned off and on but it still is flashing red and globe won’t turn. Any suggestions?

Hi there,

Could you join a picture of the cat sensor and the installation, please?
It is possible that the screw is too tight and this trigger the cat sensor permanently.
I will try my best to help you with the product.

I haven’t screwed it in yet. I just put the bonnet back on to test and it won’t cycle. The gear moves for a second then it stops and flashes red as it has before.

Please check your unit for the following:

  • The litter is above the fill line or in excess of 10lbs.
  • CATS has not been reset after adding weight
  • The waste drawer has too much weight
  • The unit is sitting on an uneven surface ‐ grout lines on tile floor or in a bathtub.
  • The unit is pushed into a corner, against a wall, or furniture
  • Objects are resting or pressing on the unit

The red blinking light indicates CATS (the cat sensor) is detecting excess weight for more than 2 minutes. To test your changes, power the unit off and then on. Allow the unit to complete the start‐up cycle and return Home with a solid blue light. Your unit is operating normal. If it continues to flash, let us know so we can troubleshoot further.

Always press Reset after emptying the waste drawer, adding litter, or moving the unit. You can also turn the unit OFF then ON to ensure the baseline is set properly. When pressing Reset, watch for the blue light to quickly flash one time. This indicates CATS has been successfully reset.

If none of the above solves the issue:

  1. Remove the bonnet.
  2. Remove the globe
  3. Replace the bonnet
  4. Press Cycle (without the globe on the unit)
  5. Allow the motor to run for 5 seconds, at any point, does it stop and flash red? If no, then excess weight needs to be removed from the globe. If yes, the cat sensor will probably need to be adjusted or the unit repaired.

I am experiencing the same problem. I figured the pressure sensor was defective, so I bought a new one from your store. The red light keeps flashing though, even without the globe installed, or when the globe is empty. The gear does not move at all in my case. Are there any other things I can try?

EDIT - Nevermind, looks like you have to apply some pressure to the sensor for the device to register it properly. It’s working now.

So I’ve done everything you suggested and it still is flashing red. I did get it to cycle though when I press reset and press down on the cat sensor and press cycle but as soon as I let up it stops and flashes yellow.

I did everything and still having trouble—any suggestions?

Hi,

It looks like the unit will need to be verified, I suggest you contact the dealer if the unit is still under warranty.
