I have had various versions of litter robots over the past 15 years. My current litter robot 3 did have the extended warranty but is now over 3 years old.
My issue is that it is getting stuck open with an orange quick flashing light. It is non responsive after this. If I turn it off and on it switches to the slow blue flashing light. I have cleaned the DFI sensors and all the pins, checked the connections and all looks good. The DFI sensor and all the pins were replaced 1-2 years ago. Last night, after a brief few days of being able to get it to work again, it errored out mid cycle again with the orange flashing light. This time, I was able to get it to rotate by powering it off and on again. But in the process there was a click and then by the end of the cycle the internal shield was loose at the bottom. The black key was still in its home slot at the back. I was able to eventually reset it all and the key in the slot, but it would error out in the middle of every half cycle. I had ordered what I thought were the needed parts a month ago but they were backordered. Now I am worried I didn’t get the right ones after the shield issue and the mix of blue and yellow light error messages. Hoping for some assistance.
We are sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your Litter-Robot.
Please provide us with the order number to check the parts that you have ordered.
As for the issue with the internal shield, this part has been removed from the design of the robot and was replaced with a part called the “Beige Plug” so we recommend removing it and replacing it with the plug.
If your order hasn’t been shipped yet, we might be able to add this plug to your order to avoid extra shipping fees.
My current order number is 358391. I suspected a DFI issue and was going to replace the pins since I will have it all apart. I was also going to upgrade to the connect motherboard while i had it open. The DFI part has been backordered until July 12th at last update. Do you need a picture of the shield or key or anything else to confirm the plug issue?
