If the Open Air unit cannot find Dump and/or Home position, the control panel will display 3 lights blinking. If you have recently disassembled your globe please advise.
When replacing the globe onto the base, make certain that the track around the outside of the globe is properly aligned into the groove on the base.
If the unit is plugged into a power strip, try plugging it directly into a wall. Sometimes the issue is caused by a fluctuating power supply, low voltage, or other power issues. If the globe is filled past the fill line remove litter so the fill line is exposed.
Can we ask the specifications on the adapter for the power supply you are using Correct Spec: 15VDC regulated adapter 400mA to 1,000mA.
[Note: If you are using a power supply with different specifications, the Litter‐Robot may appear to work properly; however, inadequate power can cause the unit to malfunction over time.]
While powered on, unplug the unit from the back of the base.
There is a pin in the jack where the small connector from the power supply is inserted. This pin should be split. Find something small and open it slightly if it is not. 3. Plug in the power supply and let your unit cycle. What happens? A blue solid light means the issue should be resolved.
Hi, I just changed the motor in my robot II and it seems to be working fine. I just noticed a ticking sound while cycling and I don’t remember that from before. I have had the Robot II since 2008 and this is the first time I had issues with the motor, so not sure if things have changed that I am not aware of. Please advise. Thank you.
update: sorry to say that this morning, the motor is not working at all. not sure what has gone wrong. would loose screws on motor make it stop from working completely? I am having a hard time tightening the screws on the motor.
We have a Litter Robot II. With or without the globe, it’s going to red blinking light. When we first power it up, it’s solid yellow for about a minute then starts blinking red. It does not cycle & the motor does not turn.
MY LR 2 has a yellow solid light when I turn it on. It then goes to blinking red. I replaced tghe harness and the connections (the ones attached to the tripwire) and the sensor. It’s still happening. LR support said it had to be a bad connection, but could a bad or seized motor also cause this? The motor gear turns 1 mm counterclockwise when I first power on the unit then stops as though it encountered some resistance. Can the motor be disassembled and WD40 sprayed into it? Or is the only easy fix replacing the motor for $50??
I have a similar issue with my LR II. Recently my unit would not stop rotating passing the dump position. It would eventually stop and return another 360 degrees almost stopping at the proper stopping position. Then I got 3 blinking lights on the circuit board. So I decided to change out the circuit board and harness. After changing out the circuit board, it still had the same issue. I then thought I would replace the harness. When I got in to the the motor area I noticed that the hall sensor was not in it’s proper position. That was probably the issue then. I proceeded with the harness replacement. Pretty simple, reinstalled the the motor and hall sensor. But now the motor will not activate. When I hit the on button I get a grunt from the motor and it just stops. If I repeat turning it off and then on I get that grunt sound each time then it stops. I have rechecked the wiring and all seems to be connected properly. I also tested the power supply and that works fine. I don’t think what I did would have rendered the motor inop. as it was running fine before I changed the harness.
