Litter robot DFI sensor

After I installed the new DFI sensor I purchased from RobotShop the litter robot does not power up. There is power going to the main board as components get warm but the unit does not turn on.

Could the DFI replacement kit be defective?

How to I return the kit and get a new one to try?
