Litter Robot Cat Sensor Fault

Hi all,
My Litter Robot 3 has its red LED blinking - signifying a cat sensor fault, I already tried all troubleshooting recommended by litter-robot manufacturer to no success.
I noticed robotshop offers a replacement sensor (here), which I am happy to purchase, but I wanted first ask how can I make sure the sensor is faulty?
If I remove the sensor, what behaviour should I expect? If I press it with my hands should I notice the resistance going down? Or should it be a on/off type of switch?
Thanks, and kind regards,
Bruno

Hello @bfacastelucci ,

Welcome to the RobotShop community!

If you have followed all the recommendations from the following video and the issue persists, then we can confirm that the problem is with the cat sensor. The cat sensor is a pressure sensor. If you remove it, the red light will continue to blink. The robot will not function without this sensor.

Additionally, you can replace the 3 contact pins on your robot, as they show signs of usual wear and tear. These pins should be replaced every 1-2 years as part of regular maintenance to ensure the robot functions properly. These components can rust or corrode over time due to ammonia exposure.

In order to help you repair your robot as quickly as possible, we recommend that you purchase the necessary replacement parts from the RobotShop website:

-Cat sensor: RB-Ltr-84

-3 sets of pins: RB-Ltr-107, RB-Ltr-108, RB-Ltr-129
