Litter Robot 3 turns past empty then stops

Greetings.

Two issues here -

Recently this thing started acting up. It will turn to empty, turn a tad more then stop and flash rapid yellow.

See video (in fast motion): https://drive.google.com/file/d/12q79mzKyFQGXQkc1onkWK64Vi49aPsdv/view?usp=drivesdk

Somehow, through various resetting and troubleshooting, it seemed to start working again, only to fail and now slow blink blue. Pressing reset will toggle to rapid yellow.

See video: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1hD5EhGebDZVcaoAyt51ki3kiAyrHAB01/view?usp=drivesdk

Have wiped the lens sensors.
Waste drawer empty.
Have cleaned the pinch detector.
Have tried all manner of resetting / powering off, etc.
It’s on level surface.

Any clues?

Thank you so much in advance for your help!

Hello @mattuhtatt,

Welcome to RobotShop community.

We are sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your Litter-Robot.

The first issue could be caused by one of these three things:

1- Wrong power supply (please check if you have mixed up the power supply with another device or it’s the original one and make sure that it’s plugged directly to the wall)

2- Missing or misplaced magnets inside the globe (If you have move the globe recently this could be the reason)

3- Faulty hall-effect sensors (if the first two things were okay then this is the reason)

The other issue:

We will need to see the Anti-Pinch pins after they have been cleaned to determine if they are operational or better to replace them along with the DFI to avoid any issues in the near future.

Please provide us with your order number to check your warranty status.

Awaiting your reply.

Sincerely,

Thanks for the quick reply!

  1. The power supply is correct and never changed.

  2. The globe has never been disassembled so not sure about the magnets?

  3. Will look into the hall and DFI sensors.

This unit was purchased directly from manufacturer under 1 year ago.

I was hoping there was an easy fix before needing to start changing out parts.

Thanks!

Hello @mattuhtatt,

Thank you for your reply.

In this case, this is probably a hall-effect sensor issue along with the DFI sensor so they both need to be replaced.

Since you have bought your Litter-Robot from the manufacturer, we recommend contacting them to carry on with the repair process.

Let us know if you have any further questions.

Sincerely,
