I am facing the following three issues with my Litter Robot 3:
When the robot is cycling, it stutters constantly throughout the cycle.
Sometimes after the robot finishes a cycle, the three lights flash sequentially from blue to red.
The robot is leaking urine, which pools at the rear right side. It seems that urine sometimes also pools inside the rear right side of the base. However, I have not managed to trace where the urine is originally leaking from.
You can use the below Google Photos links to access two videos showing the first two issues I’ve described with the Litter Robot (i.e. apart from the urine leak):
I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you very much in advance.
I have now checked the globe liner thoroughly and I cannot see any cuts or holes. I do have the black key installed at the back of the globe.
It is difficult to trace where the urine is coming from, but it tends to pool at inside the base at the rear side of it, and then leak from the holes marked in the attached picture.
At the same time, it does seem that some of the litter’s fine particles are stuck near the plug of the black key inside the globe, which could indicate that some urine is going through there. However, I’m not sure how the urine would then get inside the base and pool there.
Also, which 3 sets of pins did you mean in your first message that would need replacing alongside the circuit board?
This is indeed the source of the leakage, the urine would get out of the black key opening and would leak on the outer body of the globe all the way down into the base so you need to seal this opening by using the black key and the beige plug parts.
We will provide you with the links to all the parts that you would need including the 3 sets of pins that we have mentioned earlier, however, we first need to know which country are you located in so we can send you the corresponding links.
The product code is RB-Ltr-71 if you have a litter box without WiFi, and RB-Ltr-143 if you have the WiFi model (you can search for the product on our website using these product codes in the search bar).
Please don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions.
I have the issue with urine, same as the author of this post. Once in a while it’s causing flashing orange and cleaning the urine and sensors is helping. But I would like to solve the leakage problem and not just results of it.
First, we recommend observing your cat(s) when they use the litter box, paying close attention to the exact spot where they urinate inside the globe.
It is possible that the leaking issue is caused by a cat urinating too high on the globe’s wall, which can cause urine to flow down to the base. Normally, if the cat urinates directly onto the litter at the bottom of the globe, the urine is absorbed by the litter and there should be no leakage.
It may also be that the litter you are using is not absorbent enough for the amount of urine your cat produces. Additionally, you can try increasing or decreasing the cleaning cycle pause time so that the robot cleans sooner or longer after your cat has used it.
Please share your observations with us so that we can better assist you in resolving this issue.
Could you please show us exactly where the urine is accumulating in the base, either with a photo or a short video? This will help us better understand the situation.
Unfortunately, if your cat tends to urinate high on the globe, there isn’t much that can be done to fully prevent the issue, as this behavior falls outside the unit’s intended usage.
That being said, we can still offer some tips to help you protect certain areas of the robot and minimize the impact.
We remain at your disposal and are happy to assist further based on the observations you share.
