Litter robot 3 stopped working

Hi i have had my litter robot for about two years and has been working fantastically but this morning i noticed that none of the front lights where lit.
I checked and tested the power cord, fully cleaned and re assembled but still nothing was working.
I then dismantlement and removed the cover on the motor and circuit board and noticed a black mark on the micro chip.
Is this normal or is the circuit board requiring replacement.

Hello @Whiskeywizard,

It looks like a burnout on a chip

Is it still in warranty period maybe?

There is a large black mark on the chip as shown in the picture.
Unfortunately the warranty expired about 4 months ago.

Interesting is that a new one also has that mark

Anyway, I would suggest you buy a replacement board: https://www.robotshop.com/en/litter-robot-iii-open-air-circuit-board.html

Ok update,
i took it apart again and verified all connections, retested the power cord and ensured that the circuit board was getting 15v to the connection pins and nothing worked.
I decided to try connecting a battery and the machine works.
Very confused.

I don’t have an electrical scheme for Litter Robot 3. Is there any fuse visible? Seems like the circuit part responsible for direct power supply is damaged.

Hi there,

If the unit works with a battery, I believe that you should replace the Power Supply.

Let me know how it goes.
