Litter Robot 3 Open Air - Red Blinking Light 1 Second in Powering On

Hi!

I require your help regarding a problem I’m encountering.

the problem is that when ever the litter box is turned on, it will begin to cycle for about one second and then a red blinking light starts to blank. Based on what I’ve googled, it seems to be tripping the Sensor at start. Knowledge-based essays that this light is related to the Sensor being tripped for longer than two minutes.

I’ve cleaned out the box completely, emptied waste drawer, replace the pinch sensors, make sure that it’s on a completely even surface, it’s not against the wall or anything, and no matter what I do this light comes back.

does anyone have any suggestions? I’ve reached out to support but haven’t made much progress in the last three months with this issue. I’m hoping that someone had a similar experience and found the solution.

Thank you so much in advance for your help!

Hello @CatFer,

Welcome to RobotShop community.

We are sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your Litter-Robot.

Please provide us with your order number or a copy of the invoice.

Are you using the original adapter and plugging it directly into the wall?

Please provide us with a short video of the robot starting the cycle so we can check this behavior.

Awaiting your reply.

Sincerely,

Yes I am using the original adapter, and no its not under warranty. I am asking for what the solution is so I can purchase the parts and replace them.

Here is a video of the issue:

Hello @CatFer,

Thank you for your reply.

Very well, we can see in the video that you are still having the internal shield.

The shield has been removed from the robot design as it has been causing a lot of issues to the customers so you will need to replace it with the beige plug (RB-Ltr-113)

Also, you need to remove the bonnet and globe then put back the bonnet and see if the motor will rotate normally without the globe or not.

Check the black gear and make sure that it’s not loose or free-spinning.

Let us know how it goes.

Sincerely,

Thanks for letting me know about part number 113. Regarding testing without the globe, the result is the same:

In this case, the motor needs to be replaced as well.

This is the product code for the motor RB-Ltr-74

This video will show you how to replace the motor:
