Hi,
I have a Litter Robot 3, out of warranty that has once again come up with a error I cannot figure out.
This one is yellow slow blinking light, or sometimes red blinking light. The app tells me “cat sensor timing” and “cat sensor fault”, but after letting it sit for a duration it is not trying to continue.
I have exhausted troubleshootings I can think of, such as
taking it apart to ensure no clogs from debrit
ensured the bonnet connection looks good
reset the flash by unplugging for 30 seconds and plugging back in
removing bag to rule out weight
it has seen to gotten bad, when I do get it to move it moves only for a few seconds and then gives me the “cat sensor interrupted” yellow blinking light.
Do you have anything else I should try, and or what part should I get to fix this issue from the store
The Anti-pinch pins are out of stock right now, do you by chance have the ability to know how long until they come in? Do you think that the repair could still work if I just clean them extra good but get the rest of the items listed?
Just trying to evaluate if I should order the stuff that is in stock now or wait so I don’t have to pay shipping twice
The Anti-Pinch pins should arrive in stock on July 12
We cannot guarantee that the robot would work without issues if the Anti-Pinch pins weren’t replaced but it’s your call to decide if you can wait these two weeks for them or test your luck without them and order them later on if needed.

So I got it all repaired and have been monitoring it, but I need some guidance as to how tight I am suppose to tighten everything for the cat sensor.
I still sometimes and getting an error where it will stop mid cycle. At first I thought it was the motor as helping guide helped.
But along with the errors from the app saying it was a cat interrupted it (I know it didn’t), I came to realize that the wobble of the globe was tricking the sensor. If I held the unit slightly forward so the button can’t push in then the globe will work normal so I am confident it is to do with this
I tried tightening it more to see if it would reduce the wobble but it still sometimes will trick it
It is on hardwood floor, the weight of the litter isn’t the issue and the waste drawer is empty… its just something to do with now it wants to push that black trigger too easy
What’s the status of the lights when the robot stops in the middle of the cycle?
Please also check the small button gliders located between the base and the globe as they might be missing and causing the globe to not rotate smoothly.
Lastly, you can try to loosen the nut located above the CAT sensor a little to see if it’ll solve the issue.
It was flashing yellow and the app would say that a cat interrupted it. It would try again a bit later, sometimes finish sometimes freeze and flash yellow again
But in trials and errors over the last few days, if i put a bit of pressure on the waste drawer to take pressure off the back, then the globe cycles normal.
So when I replaced the Cat sensor a few weeks back, I am not sure if I tightened too much or not enough. So I tried loosening it, the nut fell off, so I tightened it more…
It is still doing it sometimes, but not for last few days because I emptied the bag… it wasn’t completely full but getting there so that didn’t help with the balance
Please follow the instructions in the video description below to know how much you need to tighten the nut located above the CAT sensor depending on the color of the foot you are having:
We also recommend replacing the 3 sets of pins as mentioned earlier since the yellow blinking light is usually related to them.
ya, I have a black foot, but the screw that was inside was 1 and 1/4 inch, not 1 5/8 like the video says it should be
So the screw in mine is much shorter for some reason… I tried going tighter but made more issues, so i have it pretty much as lose as I can go right now. After realizing my screw is so much shorter that could explain so many of the issues.
Only other thing I can think of is to try and find the proper length bolt
