Litter robot 3 - Frequent over torque fault

My litter robot 3 has suddenly developed frequent over torque faults. This hasn’t been a major issue previously and I haven’t changed the type or volume of litter we are using. How can I trouble shoot this problem? Thanks

Hello @HarryandNeela ,

Welcome back to RobotShop community.

We are sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your Litter-Robot.

Please provide us with your order number or a copy of the invoice.

Please check and make sure that you are using the original power adapter and plugging it directly into the wall.

Do you hear any noise from the motor or if the cycle is too slow?

Awaiting your reply.

Sincerely,

Many thanks,

Order No is 1252105

The motor sounds laboured but not dramatically different. Interestingly the fault only occurs in on direction. When the globe rotates anti-clockwise to empty clumps the unit is fine. Only when rotating back to the home position does the unit repeatedly fault.

Hi,

Further to my response above, should I open a ticket regarding this fault?

Thanks,

David

Hello @HarryandNeela ,

Thank you for your reply.

Does the robot reach the dump position then stop with a fast blinking yellow light?

We will also need to see the 3 pairs of contact pins shown in the following videos:
Anti-Pinch Pins:

Bonnet’s Pin:

Base’s Pin:

No need to take them out of the robot, we only need to see them from the outside.

Awaiting your reply.

Many thanks,

I’ll post the images in due course.

If the globe does manage to return to the home position it nearly always flashes a yellow then a red light on repeat.

Best,

David

Hello @HarryandNeela ,

Thank you for your reply.

In this case, the motor is the main source of the issue so it’ll need to be replaced so we will send you a new one under warranty.

The following video will show you how to replace it:

We still need to see the pins to confirm if they need to be replaced along with the motor or not.

Awaiting your reply.
