Hi I was wondering if you could assist me with some issues I am having with my litter robot 2.
For some reason it is rotating in the wrong direction (anticlockwise) with the Amber light constantly on. I have replaced the control board after ordering from your shop, which seemed to fix the issue but when I checked this morning the litter hasn’t cycled and when I hit cycle it turned in the wrong direction again. My next step is to replace the Hall effect sensors but before I go to the trouble, I figured I would ask if that is actually the issue.
If you already have replaced the circuit board, then your problem is probably caused by the harness / magnetic sensor. Usually, when the globe is turning in the wrong direction, it’s a problem caused by the circuit board or the magnetic sensor.
Hi ! My litter robot sometimes turns in the wrong direction. For example, last time it did, I pulled off the litter robot. Then I put back electricity. It did an initialisation cycle.I hit the fill button, once, it went to fill position. I hit the fill button again, it came back in normal position.I hit the cycle button, it turned normaly. I hit the cycle button again, it turned again perfectly. So i put wait on the step, the light turned orange, and after 7 minutes, it turned perfectly. Then 2 hours after, my cat went into the litter robot. 7 minutes later…it turned in the wrong direction !And all the litter is on my floor…What can I do ?Thanks !
@alexstain, it sounds like the magnetic sensor is slowly giving out. It could also be the circuit board that is defective. If you have purchased this robot with RobotShop we would suggest to contact the Support Center under domestic robots department.
@alexstain, yes if the circuit board does not fix the issue in that case the sensor harness will, in some very cases the motor will also cause this but usually when it starts doing that it does it every time. It is possible for you to order all three parts and return what you don’t need for a refund within 30 days of products reception.
Try flipping the magnets around. I have had issues like this before.
I just tried many different ways to place these magnets. I originally had all of them placed the same direction. I got the red -> yellow -> blue flashing lights. With all of the magnets in the other same direction, the litter robot would stop quickly after it turns in the counterclockwise direction to return to the home position. Here is what works
ALL OF THE MAGNETS IN THE SAME DIRECTION… EXCEPT THE MAGNET AT THE VERY BOTTOM.
(The magnet that would sit in the 6 o’clock position if the globe was sitting in the upright position needs to be opposite from all of the other ones)
If your litter robot misses the dump position, and tries to continue turning after the dump position, That top magnet needs to be reversed. Place the other two magnets at the same polarity as that top magnet once you have it in the right direction. Then the very bottom one will be opposite from all of the other ones.
I have spent a lot of time trying to figure this out. I have not read this solution anywhere else, it was just trial and error for me. I wish litter robot would explain this for us on their website.
