Good afternoon. I received my Litter Robot back on October 7th of this year. I was really impressed with how well it worked and how fast my two cats took to it. They love it and so do I. No more scooping poop and smelly basement.
I went down today to empty the tray and noticed that the globe was stuck on a 45° angle from the home position and all three lights were flashing. I grabbed the user manual and read the troubleshooting section. It’s hard for me to tell if they are blinking once or twice per second so I did both suggestion. I turned off and unplugged the unit, removed the globe and tray. I cleaned all surfaces of the base, inside and out of the globe. (Which were spotless) Dumped the litter inside the globe and put in fresh stuff. Then made sure the globe was in the home position and on a hard flat surface. It looked like the day I took it out of the box. I plugged it back in, turned the unit on and I’m still getting all three lights flashing at me. What can I do to fix this issue? I never had a single problem with this unit until today. I dump the tray every couple days. There is no build up of anything on the wire, track, motor and doors.
Thank you for your time.
- The unit doesn’t move at all. As soon as you turn it on, the motor will move like 1/8" and then all three lights start flashing. There are no obstructions anywhere.
- I left the clear plastic cover on the control panel, because there was a note next to it saying to leave it on for the first 90 days, and there are no signs of urine anywhere.
- The nut was at the top of the bolt so I adjusted the bolt 1/4" past the nut. There is nothing on the safety line and I can hear it make contact when I snap it.
So I put everything back together, powered it up, and… nothing. All three lights are still flashing at me.
Yeah I ordered from this site at the end of September.
Just submitted a ticket like you said.

Thanks for your help.
We are sorry to hear that you are having problems with your litter-robot.
Please check the following:
-
While the globe is at the dump position please check to see if the Waste Port Guard handle is interfering with the entrance lip of the flexible liner. If this appears to be the case then please reposition the lip such that the channel at the base of the lip is fitted onto the hard plastic opening.
-
Please check the control panel for any evidence of urine residue. Also, if you see urine in the bottom of the waste drawer, this would be an indication that your cat is missing the litter and urinating just outside the opening, which may be damaging the circuit board behind the control panel.
-
Let’s also make certain the cat sensor is at the factory setting. Please remove the globe and waste drawer and make certain the unit is off. You will see a black cover just inside the base. Remove it. Make certain there is no debris on the safety line and then SNAP it a few times to make certain the switch is not stuck. You will now be able to see a bolt that is coming out of a nut. This bolt should show 1/4 inch above the nut. If it does not, then adjust the cat sensor by turning what we call the foot/knob that is directly underneath the base until it is.
Put everything back together and let the unit cycle. Please let us know how it turns out.
