Lipo battery showing zero volts

I bought a 7.4v Lipo battery (not from RobotShop but it looks like your item RB-Dfr-160. It was out of stock here.) and it arrived showing zero volts. Is this to be expected? I have not tried charging it yet as the charger (which was ordered from RobotShop, RB-Dfr-607) has not arrived as yet. There do not seem to be any switches to flip. Thinking that perhaps one of the wires had come loose I measured the resistance across the connector and found 24 Ohms. Lithium batteries being what they are, I do not want to tamper with the orange plastic wrapping.

Would that charger be able to do anything with this battery?

Good day to you,

If you received a LiPo battery pack that shows 0 volt that is not normal and means the battery is either dead or one of the wires are not connected to the inside of the battery (may be visible or not).

We do not suggest trying to charge this battery, it definitely seems defective.

Sincerely,
