I just received my assembled machine the other day and have no idea how to get started. The manual wasn’t much help and haven’t been able to find any help online. I’ve got it powered up and connected to my Mac and not sure where to go from here.
Hi wbacalso,
The first place to look at would be the Wiki from LinkSprite.
Here are the important links for softwares.
]Control Software for Windows
]Control Software/:m]
]Firmware Download
]GRBL Introduction/:m]/:m][/list:u]/:m]
]Control Software for MAC
]Control Software/:m]/:m][/list:u]
It’s good to know that this CNC use a GRBL controller which is open source and widely used.
Let us know if you need anything else
Thanks for your help. The Wiki from LinkSprite site wouldn’t work when I tried it initially. Seems to be loading now.
Hello. So I’ve opened Grbl Controller onto my Desktop with the engraver connected to my Mac and powered up. The red light is on, but on the Grbl Controller software, the message I’m getting is ‘No data from COM port after connect. Expecting Grbl version string.’ The default port name is ’ /dev/cu.Bluetooth-Incoming-Port’ and there are no other options in the drop down menu. I can’t seem to find out what port I should be using. Thanks.
Do you have any COM ports available in the drop-down menu of grblControl ?
After looking around, we found that the chip would be a CH340 serial to USB and here are some links to usb drivers:

We have not tested the above since we are on Windows.
