Linear servo control

Hi, I’m using Spektrum radio gear, and need to use a linear servo. (About 10 cm travel required)
Can I plug your linear servos directly into my Spektrum rx (just like a normal servo) or do I need a separate control system?
Many thanks,
Doug

Hello @DJK!

Well if your linear actuator accepts RC signal, you can certainly control it with your Spektrum RX.

Which actuator were you thinking of using?

I was thinking of the L16 100mm 6v.

Could this be plugged directly into a Spektrum rx?

If it specifies “RC control” in it’s title, it can receive RC signal from your Spektrum RX just fine. Just make sure that your power supply can give enough power to it

One last question - what does the ratio 35:1 or 150:1 specify, and does this affect the power consumption or efficiency of the unit?

It is the gearbox ratio. A 35:1 gearbox will reduce the speed by 35 but increase the torque by 35 also.

I suggest that you take a look at the speed/force in the datasheet below:
