I just heard from a representative from Carnegie Science Center that they have been using some 5990 servos in a display that operates full time. The told me the servos have been in use without problems for 6 months. He also told me they estimate it has been running for 6700 hours. The gears have developed a little slop, <1mm so he’s going to replace the gears. This is the first real time line anyone has provided on how long these servos last.
