Hello.
I am trying to connect my pixhawk2.1 to lidar lite v3.
I read the ardupilot.org/copter/docs/common … rlite.html.
I try to do i2c connection.
The question is I don’t get it the BEC.
What is the BEC and where can I buy for my lidar.
I am using the 3s and 4s battery.
I don’t know which parts should I solder it from bec to my dji f450 board(which is my base UAV).
I understand the pixhawk connection part but I don’t know what is BEC and how to use it.
Hi,
First, we recommend that you read about what a BEC is here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battery_eliminator_circuit
In simple terms, the BEC is a voltage regulator that you connect to your main battery and usually outputs 5 V DC. This output is used to power electronics that are on-board.
Most ESC have a BEC inside, as you can see here.
In your case, this would be the Pixhawk and the LIDAR-Lite v3.
Make sure to also have the mandatory capacitor of 680 µF placed between the GND & VCC pins of the LIDAR-Lite v3. This is required for proper function of the device.
Sincerely,
