LIDAR-Lite 3 Laser Rangefinder To Bluetooth

What is the simplest (noob) way to transmit data from a LIDAR-Lite 3 Laser Rangefinder over Bluetooth ?

Thanks for an input

A simple way would be to use a small Arduino-compatible board with on-board Bluetooth capabilities, such as the Bluno boards.

For example, you could use the RB-Dfr-640. It has support for Bluetooth with both Android and iOS platforms, too!

Be sure to have a sufficient power source for the LIDAR-Lite v3, though. It does require quite a bit of current, especially for start-up as the in-rush current can be quite high (~500 mA), which is too much for a USB 2.0 (or older) port. Therefore, it needs either a double-port cable (where there is an extra type A connector for more power) or an external power source to provide enough current.

We hope this helps!

Sincerely,
