LIDAR-Lite 3 Laser Rangefinder Laser model number and specs

What is the model of the 905nm laser that is used in the LIDAR-Lite 3 Laser Rangefinder product code(RB-Pli-06) (robotshop.com/en/lidar-lite … inder.html)? I am particularly interested in finding out what the coherent length is of this laser and whether the laser is single longitudinal mode.

Hi,

We do now have the specifics concerning what laser diode is used in the LIDAR-Lite v3 RB-Pli-06]. That being said, we can confirm some details, such as:

…] is that the LL V3 transmit optics is not a coherent system. The simple answer (and I fear this may not be satisfactory, but it’s all we can give him) is that the exit diameter of the laser is 12 X 2 mm and it is spread at ½ degree based on the holographic diffuser that is in the optical path. From that the beam divergence should be a pretty easy calculation.

That being said, we have contacted the manufacturer to see if we can obtain more details for you. We will post here again once we receive a response.

Here are some more details:

If you want to go the extra step, I’ve attached a data sheet you can share. The version of laser we use is the PGEW1S. Keep in mind that there are optics between the laser and outside world that impact the beam quality. In particular,r we have a ½ degree diffuser for eye safety that spreads the beam out.
