Hi Everyone

I just wanted to find out if the LIDAR-Lite 2 sensor can measure both distance and velocity? Or is it a case where you switch it into different modes? My application requires both position and velocity outputs.

Hi cobalt,

The device can read both distance and velocity, but changing between the two requires to change values in the device’s registers (i.e.: changing modes).

But, if you set the device to distance measurement and also in continuous mode, you can easily use the readings obtain to get a velocity on your application side, too, since the rate of measurement can be set in the device.
