Hello,
I’am a photographer / maker … and i’m building a photo robot
i need to use a sensor, probably a lidar
that’ll be able to detect user position within 6m, field max around 120° guiding them in a position (left/right) to the center to keep the same background
and having my sensor near the floor to detect the jump of all people at the same time and of course let my robot and trigger a photo at that particular time
can you help me to choose the best sensor / or LIDAR for my need
best regards
Hi,
You can browse our catalog of LIDAR-based products here.
If we understand your need correctly, you wish to detect when a group of people are note in the path of sensor anymore (jumping up)?
This would require a sweeping scan at quite a fast speed. Please note that scanners of this kind tend to have slightly higher beam divergence. Therefore, they may only be able to detect objects of a certain minimum size (typically 10+ cm). Therefore, it may not detect legs properly, depending on the distance from the sensor.
An alternative to this solution, depending on your exact requirements, may be completed using a camera and the OpenCV library. This would allow the use of a camera to detect when a space is emptied (people jumping) and trigger the picture from that instead.
It would be easier to recommend specific products if you can provide a bit more details on your use case(s) and maybe a diagram or two. You can attach pictures/diagrams/etc. to your reply by going into Full editor mode. See the attached image for details.
Sincerely,
