Lidar Faildar !

I recently bought a Lidar and a Bluno Nano from you guys, thinking that it would be a breeze to hook it up to Windows IOT… Hmmm… nope…

I couldn’t find any examples of WIoT to Arduino direct (without a RasPi) so I thought I’d take a step back and try a regular Arduino sketch.

I tried two…

Garmin’s GetDistanceI2c sketch that uses their own Lidar lib, just shows -1 for every read.
Lynxmotion BotBoarduino LIDAR Lite Sweep Scan that uses the Wire lib… all I got back from the serial monitor was lots of ‘nash’

I’m beginning to think that it’s either wired wrong, something is broken or I’m completely out of my depth.

Start with a simple setup similar to:

If you have this exact setup and have issues getting values, there is a chance the unit might be defective, and we would be happy to exchange it for you.
Do ensure the baud rate is correct in the serial monitor (and the right COM port is selected).
