Large Servos

Does anyone know where I can purchase large servos such as are used in this robot? I can't seem to find a source for anything except hobby size servos.

Smart Servos

You might consider some Synamixel Pro servos:

From this screenshot

It looks like Pairs of dynamixel servos mounted back to back.

Fyi RS-485 is a old school balanced pair protocol designed to carry serial data in electrically noisy environments like factories.

So don't get that version of the servo unless you already use the RS-485 protocol.

Thanks

Thanks for the info. Any idea if those are the $200 or the $1200 model? I’m trying to get a feel for the performance of them. I have a project where I’m building a throwing arm that will toss T-shirts (catapult style). Currently, the plan is to use a motor to crank down a spring (spearfish tubing) that is connected to a hinged throwing arm. It would be a lot simpler and more flexible for some of my other plans if I could just use servos to swing the arm. The arm will be about 500mm long with probably no more than a 0.5kg T-shirt payload. I’d like to be able to toss it about 8m. Am I dreaming in hoping that there is a servo capable of this that doesn’t require a second mortgage? I don’t mind throwing a few hundred dollars at it but its not worth thousands.

Are the TTL versions of the Dynamixels directly compatible with standard RC receivers or do I need something in between?

Thanks!

Ian

Large Servos

Anyone here who has worked on or used servo motor for robot RDrive50 on any project?

Need a replacement  Servo Motor for our project.

I am looking for a compact and powerful servo motor to use for our project, just like you were.

I am looking for a servo motor  like a RD50x08-HD or equivelent.

Thanks for the tip.

Good luck!
