Hello everyone I just got my Lynx 5 v. 4 arm!!! Yay!!! However I ran in to a bit of a snag whilst building the shoulder section, I can`t seem to align the shoulder servos. I followed the manual and everything looked fine, but when I mounted the servos to the base there was a grinding sound at some positions. How did you guys manage to do the aligning? Any tips?
What axis specifically do you have to move to hear the grinding sound?
What step in the tutorials are you having difficulty following?
Well, when the shoulder is at about 90 degrees, I don`t have any issues, however when I move the shoulder fwd or bwrds I hear the sound. So that would be steps 10 and 11 from the arm manual v.4
Thanks for the help.
Did you plug the two servo cables on the shoulder into the “Y” cable, so they both receive the same control signal? If you have them connected to two separate channels on the SSC-32 that would explain the problem.
Yes I have plugged them in to the Y
cable.
Can you go into any more detail about the problem? Are you sure the two servos are functional on their own? Are you sure the servos are plugged into the Y cable with the proper orientation? I’m just not sure what you mean by grinding sound.
Both servos are plugged in to the Y cable and yes they are working, its just that I dont think I
ve done a very good job aligning the arm section, you know the two lexan bars (thats what I
m having issues with). I came to this conclusion because I`m hearing a grinding sound from the shoulder (think its from the gears inside the servos). Hope this helps Thanks
